Luisa's Patient Journal 5 – Rhinoplasty
| Luisa: Today is a better day. I had a rocky start only because everything was so new and different to me. Once he took out the straws and took out the little cast I started doing a lot better. I was able to breathe and I just felt so much better. I mean I felt no pain through the whole procedure there’s not once where I thought ‘oh I have to take pain medication’. So I felt pretty much ok, it was just getting used to the, you know, the irrigation and just doing all these little things to make sure that everything goes as it’s supposed to. By following the doctor’s orders everything has been going fine since then.I feel good I mean, I feel normal other than the fact that on Thanksgiving everyone came over with a cold and I think I’m developing some kind of cold. So other than that I mean I feel good I feel normal. The doctor was awesome; I mean he made me feel so comfortable. The staff has been continuously awesome and they just have been so helpful and so nice the whole way through, I just couldn’t have asked for anything better.
My cast and everything wasn’t scary to my children, I mean, there were able to adapt and help also and help my husband also in the process of taking care of me. It’s helped by following the doctor’s orders and just really eating right, taking care of myself. Well basically my husband really taking care of me. Just following the rules it just makes a big difference on how you eat. On the specific orders that doctor gives you to follow. I mean drinking lots of water, that helps drinking lot of water and it’s just basically mind of matter. Basically you have to adapt to this process which it’s not hard but it’s just something that you have to really set your mind to. It’s not something that you don’t experience any pain it’s just I mean I was surprised because everybody was surprised that I didn’t have any bruising on my eyes or any bruising on my cheeks. It was just basically I was just swollen and normal after I came out of surgery which is normal. But I didn’t have the normal bruising that you would think that I would have. The way you see my eyes now is pretty much the way my eyes were when I came out of surgery, no bruising. Pretty much the swelling has gone down on my cheeks and I feel a lot better. Other than that I mean today is a better day. |
