Revision Rhinoplasty FAQs

Q - What's nasal packing?

A - Nasal packing refers to the practice of packing the nasal chambers, or nostrils, with gauze or cotton packs. This may be done to control or prevent bleeding or sometimes to support the septum after rhinoplasty, though it is not always necessary. If nasal packing is used, it is usually removed within one to two days after surgery.
