Revision Rhinoplasty FAQs
Q -
Why do I need a surgeon who is board certified by the ABFPRS?
A - Board certification by the ABFPRS is important because it signifies the following:
- The surgeon is double boarded, with prior certification in a specialty through the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Canada.
- The surgeon is properly licensed and adheres to the ABFPRS’s Code of Ethics.
- The surgeon has completed an approved residency in one of two surgical specialties which include identifiable training in all aspects of facial plastic surgery (typically otolaryngology/head-and-neck surgery or plastic surgery).
- A two-day examination has been successfully completed by the surgeon.
- The surgeon has submitted an acceptable record of a minimum of two years worth of clinical experience for peer review. This includes operative reports for at least one hundred facial plastic surgeries.
