Q - What are some common reasons why people may seek revision rhinoplasty?
A - Patients may experience aesthetic complications, or those related to the appearance of the nose, as a result of a primary rhinoplasty or they may experience functional complications related to breathing, or some patients may experience both. There are a number of things that can result in these complications, including underresection when not enough is removed, overresection when too much is removed, asymmetry, and abnormal scarring. Grafting materials are typically required for complications resulting from overresection.
