“Dear Dr. Nassif,
There are not enough words to express how thankful I am to you for changing my life. I know some people might not think a procedure like rhinoplasty can make a change but it has for me. It has made me at peace with myself. It all started when I was a teenager. I never like the side profile of my nose, and always thought it was something I could never change. It affected my self esteem to a point that I was never completely happy with myself. I can tell you that all that changed five years ago when I saw you on T.V. and I actually had hope. I quickly wrote down your name, and soon thereafter, I lost it. It was not until a year ago that I decided to research all rhinoplasty doctors that I finally found your name and location. I instantly felt safe and secure even before my first appointment. I knew that you were the right person to help me. After my nose was broken, I had a thirty percent obstruction in my left nostril. So I right away had my outpatient procedure down in my city to correct my deviated septum only. The doctor who performed the procedure actually made it worse. My nose didn’t even seem normal. It made it harder to fully breathe. My nose was now eighty percent obstructed. For ten months, I didn’t sleep well, I had dark circles under my eyes and I became easily irritated. Sometimes, I would get so upset that I would cry because of my partial insomnia. That was when I decided that I was going to fix my nasal obstruction, and I would also reduce the hump on my nose. I could only trust you because I had seen the amazing results of so many of your patients who had even worse problems than I, and they looked astounding.
I then contacted Jade six months later when I finally decided it was time to make a change. All I can say is that Jade was a remarkable kind person. She was very sweet and understanding. She answered all my questions and relieved me of my doubts. She was also able to help me figure out the financial end because I almost wasn’t able to find a solution. She was an immense assistant before and after surgery. I can honestly say that all of your staff, Stephanie, Christine, and the surgery staff, were all so caring and comforting. It was really obliging to have so many people from your office willing to make feel at ease and at home through this process. You and your staff make each and every one of your patient feel that they are important as soon as they walk through you door. It brings me to tears every time I remember how much this has made me feel complete. I’m now able to breathe better and my sleep has improved as well as my health. I’m less irritable and happier and my outlook on life changed for better. Your are such a wonderful, incredible and talented doctor, who has the gift to forever change how people feel about themselves. I can say that your attitude towards your patient is truly a wonderful thing. You are very outgoing person who can make his patients laugh and feel relaxed around you even when they are nervous or scared. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, and your staff for everything you have done for me. I will forever be grateful.
Sincerely
Luisa Espinoza”

Concepts Related to Luisa’s Procedure
Septoplasty: Septoplasty is a surgical procedure used to correct the shape of the septum due to defects or deformities. The nasal septum is the separation between the nostrils. Septoplasty may be performed during a rhinoplasty procedure. When performed together, this is referred to septorhinoplasty.
Turbinoplasty: There are three turbinates in each nasal pasage. Each one protrudes from the sidewall of the nose. The lower or inferior turbinate is by far the largest of the three. Turbinates are shaped like a scroll, and act to warm, air before it passes on to your throat. Throughout the day, the turbinates periodically
change size in a pattern known as the nasal cycle. That’s why at any given time, a person can usually breathe better out of one side the other. Turbino plasty is the operation performed to reduce the size of the turbinate. Usually, only the inferior turbinates need correction.
Closed (Endonasal) Rhinoplasty: Rhinoplasty decribes an array of operative techniques that can be used to alter the aesthetic and functional properties of the nose. Surgical access to the nose can be gained via incisions placed inside the nose (endonasal approaches) or via incisions placed inside the nose combined with incisions placed outside the nostrils (external approach), usually on the collumella, Prior to the incresed popularity of the external (open) rhinoplasty approach in the last decade, the terms rhinoplasty and endonasal rhinoplasty were almost synonymous.
