Kristina’s Facial Plastic Surgery

Patient Experience

Preoperative Diagnosis: Nasal obstruction secondary to deviated septum, bilateral internal valve narrowing, and hypertrophic turbinates.

Procedure: Septoplasty, open rhinoplasty, upper blepharoplasty, endoscopic browlift, and lower blepharoplasty.

Findings: Septum deviated to left, narrow right greater than left middle vault; concave, malformed right medial crura; ptotic eyebrows; excess skin of the upper eyelids; lower eyelid fat pseudoherniation and tear-trough deformity.

Comments: This patient wished to freshen the appearance around her eyes, and rejuvenate her lower eyelid area making it softer, natural and less hollow. In addition, the patient’s septum was deviated and her middle vault was crooked. Dr Nassif performed a septoplasty to open up Kristina’s airway. For the aesthetic portion of Kristin’s surgery, Dr. Nassif’s goal was to moderately elevate the eyebrows. He removed skin from upper eyelids with upper blepharoplasty, and performed an endoscopic browlift. In addition, he performed lower blepharoplasty with fat repositioning and fat grafting. With fat repositioning, an incision is made on the inside of the lower eyelid, and fat is repositioned while it is still attached and viable. With fat grafting, fat is harvested from the belly or hips, and in this situation, the fat is injected next to the repositioned fat to improve the hollow eye appearance. This creates a younger and fresher look. Kristina’s result is amazing, and her nasal breathing has greatly improved as well, enhancing her quality of life.
