Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty and another coined term for this could be Rhinoplasty Using Fillers.
One of the new coined terms is "non-surgical rhinoplasty". This is basically using fillers such as Radiesse, which is a Calcium Hydroxylapatite, or one of the Hyaluronic Acids such as Juvederm, Restylane, or Perlane. Many physicians that perform revision rhinoplasty procedures have already seen a number of complications with this practice. I have had patients come in with damaged tissue or infections because the injectables have infiltrated into areas where the blood supply of the tissue is not great. In this situation, the injectable may damage the soft tissue and cause permanent damage. Rarely, it can cause permanent irregularities which may be difficult to remove in surgery.
The only time that I have used a filler post-operatively has been in the situation where there is a slight depression in the area of the nose. In this case, a filler will help augment the depression and I always consider that to be temporary. If the depression continues and no scar tissue builds up, eventually, I will usually proceed with surgery. In general, non-surgical rhinoplasty is not a procedure that I recommend. The three-dimensional structure and healing of the nose along with the shrink wrappage of the skin can cause many problems. Anything that is an "easy fix" like this can possibly cause complications to the nose.
