Question:
I have heard that after a rhinoplasty a cast must be worn. How long does it have to stay on?

Answer:

After rhinoplasty surgery, most surgeons will have a hard cast on for the first week and brown paper tape for the second week. Thank you very much for the question and best of luck to you.

Question:
I live by myself and I do not have anyone to take me home. Can I safely drive after my nose job?

Answer:

After surgery, you will need someone to drive you to your destination, and remain with you for the first 24 hours. It is unsafe to drive after surgery as the medications you take may slow your reflexes and may make your extremely drowsy. I hope this helps answer your question. Thank you and best of luck.

Question:
I am a 20-year-old woman and I just got a nose job. Now the place behind my front teeth is numb. It is driving me crazy. When is it likely to go away?

Answer:

The numbness is not abnormal if it is right after your surgery. At this point, it would be best for you to communicate any post-operative concerns to your surgeon, as he or she knows the extent of your surgery and exactly what was performed. It is still very soon after your surgery and your surgeon will be able to give you the best advice at this time. Thank you for the question and best of luck to you.
