I am interested in having revision rhinoplasty
I am interested in having revision rhinoplasty done but I have been told that my thin skin will negatively impact any procedures I have done. Can you explain what the concerns are regarding the thin skin and if there are precautions that can be taken to address them?
Thin skin can be an issue in regard to any type of irregularities or having the thin skin firmer following rhinoplasty. What I would do in many of these cases is place soft tissue on top of the cartilage so that it gives us an extra layer of protection. The soft tissue can be either in the form of deep temporalis fascia or rib perichondrium. Usually by performing this, it will help thicken the skin slightly and hide many of the irregularities.
