Numbness behind my teeth after rhinoplasty.

Filed under: Recovery from Nose Surgery — Dr. Paul Nassif @ 11:34 am

Question:
I am a 20-year-old woman and I just got a nose job. Now the place behind my front teeth is numb. It is driving me crazy. When is it likely to go away?

Answer:
The numbness is not abnormal if it is right after your surgery. At this point, it would be best for you to communicate any post-operative concerns to your surgeon, as he or she knows the extent of your surgery and exactly what was performed. It is still very soon after your surgery and your surgeon will be able to give you the best advice at this time. Thank you for the question and best of luck to you.
